The purpose of the Carson J. Gallagher Endowed Fund is to provide ongoing unrestricted funding for the Smith-Lemli-Opitz Foundation.
Carson Gallagher is a happy, outgoing, 20-year-old who loves adventure, socializing, and community engagement. His diagnosis of Smith-Lemli-Opitz has not stopped him (or his parents and caregivers) from making sure he lives a full, exciting, fun-filled life.
Since his graduation from high school in 2024, he’s been spending his days at the local Young Adult program in his hometown. There, he spends time with his peers, gets out in the community, and works on essential life skills. Carson has made many friends in this program, not only among the students, but the staff as well. He is known for his comedic/outgoing personality and his ability to make people laugh and smile.
In his free time, Carson participates in therapeutic horseback riding each Sunday (he’s been doing this since he was 2 years old), rides his adaptive trike (weather permitting), loves going on long walks (always keeping an eye out for motorcycles…his favorite!) and seeing live music at local restaurants (he’s always in the front row).
Carson’s biggest passion right now is roller coasters/amusement parks. We take him to Cedar Point several times each summer, where he loves to ride the smaller coasters and watch the bigger ones as well. Carson brings a smile to everyone who knows and loves him, and those of us who are lucky to be in his life are truly blessed!
Sincerely,
Melissa Gallagher
